Timing system replacement for VW, Audi, Skoda in Chisinau — prices and timeframes
The timing system is an assembly where a mistake is expensive. VAG engines can be chain-driven or belt-driven. We select the kit by VIN and replace the timing system using special tools to lock the timing phases. Appointments: +373 79 93-11-88.

Chain engines
EA888 (1.8/2.0 TSI) uses a chain drive; most EA211 engines (1.0/1.2/1.4 TSI) use a timing belt. We identify the engine by VIN and follow the applicable manufacturer procedure.
Belt engines
EA111 (1.4 TSI/TFSI), EA288 (2.0 TDI) — timing belt with tensioner, idler and water pump replacement. Kit selected by VIN. Replacement with special timing tools only.
Frequently asked questions
When should the timing system be replaced?
It depends on the engine, mileage and service history. If the history is unknown, it is safer to inspect it than to wait for noise or a fault code.
How can the chain condition on EA888 be checked?
VCDS diagnostics shows tensioner extension: up to 5 grooves — normal, 5–7 — plan replacement, 7+ — urgent. Timing system inspection: 1200 lei.
