What "multi-stage" means

This is not a single bottle of "miracle chemistry". The procedure includes a preliminary borescope inspection, treatment of the combustion chamber and piston ring area, and then mandatory engine oil and filter replacement.

What we need to say honestly

Decarbonization does not always help. If the cylinders have scoring, heavy wear, damaged rings or crankcase ventilation problems, chemicals will not replace mechanical repair. That is why the borescope inspection included in the procedure is not a formality, but a way to protect the customer from unrealistic expectations.

Will decarbonization stop oil consumption?

It may reduce it if the cause is stuck rings and deposits. If there is mechanical wear or cylinder scoring, the result will be limited. This is exactly why we start with a borescope inspection.

Why is the oil changed after decarbonization?

Some of the chemicals and softened deposits enter the oil. They must not be left in the engine.
